Emails, Mindset & The Summertime Blues!

by Paul Castain on May 24, 2010

I thought it was time for me to improve my game a bit and get out of my comfort zone so I decided to hit you with a very brief podcast to start your week.

I have two very quick tips on how you can leverage a time when many sales people mentally check out.  You can access the podcast just below this type via the podcast player.

Download this episode (right click and save)

  • Daniel Heser

Is there a link to download the podcast?

Dan: The podcast player is located right below where the type in the blog post ends. The Sales Playbook logo is in it.

I went back into the post and made a note so others can find it as well.

    Thanks!

    Paul,

You know, good content works no matter what the media. I liked this choice hearing your emphasis on how not to underestimate email and it’s potential. Thanks!

    Liking the podcast thing, Paul!

Rock On!, Love the new format. Another thing to remember is that the office staff during the summer time is much more relaxed, so a well placed office visit when your competitors are not calling can enhance your message also.

Great tips Paul, and I believe you are correct. Now is the time to step it up. I will be eating the competitors lunch, not the other way around. Oh and you are also right, your theme music rocks!

@ Dan: Thanks to your valuable email, I’ve now included a link so the podcast can be downloaded.

@ Mark: Very nice of you to say that!

@ Carol: I really appreciate that. I found myself getting too comfortable again and it was time to do something to bring me out of the comfort zone.

@ Chris: Well stated. We see the same relaxed demeanor at the holidays. Thanks for making that point and rock on my friend!

Thank you all for stopping by to contribute!

    Respectfully,

@ Terri: Sorry I didn’t respond in the last batch of comments. Your comment came in while I was responding. And to your point, a resounding “Damn right!” we do need to step it up. Here’s to eating their lunch which in your case would be my lunch because we’re competitors. All I ask is that you save me a little Terri :)

And thanks for the comment on my theme music. On my blog, we only have one volume and that’s “11″

    Respectfully,

Great new format and wonderful ideas, Paul. I especially like your advice about creating an impact with a compelling message when there’s less noise. Excellent food for thought for any salesperson seeking motivation during these challenging times.

    Thanks for a great service!

Great material as usual, and interesting to hear the voice behind the face!

It takes a long time to listen to a podcast whereas I can usually read your blog in a minute or two and have a smile along the way – some of your approaches need modifying to be culturally acceptable in the UK – but that’s part of the fun.

How about a written synopsis for impatient Britons like me?

  • http://www.yoursalesplaybook.com/ Paul Castain

@ Mike Durand: Thank you Sir! Much appreciated!

@ Simon: The podcast won’t replace my blog posts they will just appear as a weekly installment.

Love your idea about the written synopsis! I get impatient too :)

    Thank you both for contributing!
