Paul, thanks for this. I’ve been avoiding the SNIOP Zone since the mid-70s –when I first heard about it–and encouraging others to avoid it. Unfortunately, friends and relatives are the worst offenders. Or anyone who thinks you may getting ahead of them in life.

Hey Paul – thank you so much for this. I have to remind myself of this every time someone tells me why my ideas or life won’t work. I had someone the other day tell me that working for myself was a bad idea. Well, I’ve been doing it for 12 years and done really well. Yet, they were still trying to discourage me. As I drove away I actually questioned myself and my business. I was in the SNIOP zone. As always, you’ve found a fun, memorable way to change the way we think. Thanks! –Donna

Thanks Paul — reminders like yours help me remember that not an activity I want to fall into–but it happens. My sister shared an idea think “HALT” when falling into bad habits–ask yourself am I “Hungry” “Angry” “Lonely” or “Tried?” It’s usually one of them you can change. Enjoy the day –Debbie

I like to believe I am pretty good at deflecting the negative influences brought into my life and I think the key is try to minimize my exposure to them. However, be around it long enough and no doubt I will be affected, it’s just to what degree.

The good news is, positive influences create positive environments and foster positive emotions. We can choose what types of influences we will surround ourselves with and to what degree they affect our state of mind.
