When Life Hits You Between The Eyes!

by Paul Castain on September 4, 2010

I was completely blown away by this video and after a really freakin good cry found myself with a needed dose of perspective.

I hope this video touches your heart as it did mine.

Blessings!

A humbled and appreciative,

Paul Castain

“Being married is like having a color television set, you never want to go back to black & white.”

    Thanks Paul.

I had my wife watch it with me, we were both crying. Thanks for sharing! You are right, it really does make you think about whats important each day.

@ Tom: I need to do the same. My wife is in Alaska on a cruise to see the glaciers. This is something I want to watch with her when she returns.

Thanks for stopping by my friend!

    Respectfully,

Wow. I am left with a swirl of thoughts and emotions. I think I’ll go make breakfast for my wife and serve it to her in bed this Labor Day morning.
That yard work isn’t so important.

    Thanks Paul

  • Ellen Lerner

Thanks, Paul. And to anyone who hasn’t watched yet — bring tissues!

@ Ellen: My pleasure and next time I’m going to buy stock in a tissue company. This video really hits ya where ya live!

    Paul,
Having a husband that fights a chronic illness (and living with it and him for over 30 yrs) we also had to learn to tell each every day that we love each other. Some days are harder than others to do that, some days impossible–but then an something happens, it could be small and we remember again how much of gift we have to be able to still be together and we figure it out! Thanks for that reminder today!

@ Holly . . . I couldn’t have said it better. It really is a gift to be together. Thanks for stopping by and know that you are both in my thoughts and prayers!

Considering that I am getting married in 3 weeks – thank you for putting the “big picture” into focus.

    Paul,

Thank you for this. And for all of the humanity that you bring to our lives in everything you write.

At times we allow the stresses of life, our jobs, and never ending responsibilities to get to us. And, we may even use the ones we love as emotional punching bags… you know, you’ve had a bad day and you come home and take it out on your spouse, the kids, the dog. Well, every once in a while we need a swift kick in the butt to be reminded of what is truly important and who will be there with you when it really matters the most. Thanks for the @$$ kickin’…

I’ve lost several family members to cancer. This is very uplifting. To know there is, has been, may be again such a wonderful love of two people. Sounds like the most TRUE love in the world. Sad but Beautiful.
