Your Sales Email Competes With Over 100 Other Emails Each Day

According to the latest report from Radicati Group, there are 265 BILLION emails sent/received each and every day and;

The average number of emails office workers send/receives daily is 121 but;

That’s just average!

How many emails do you think the C-Level engages in every day?

Oh, and do you think it might be even the slightest bit possible that all of us sales folk, sound the same in our emails?

 Its real easy for you and I to get disregarded and deleted real quick!

Here are 3 things that you can do to stand out!

Understand That The Subject Line Is Your First Line Of Defense. My suggestion is to make the subject line about your potential client instead of about YOU and your company. Reference something you discovered about their company, their competitor, their industry etc. And just for sh*ts and giggles, when appropriate, use their name in the subject line. Why? Because using someone’s name gets their attention and when you have someone dealing with north of 100 emails per day, that’s a REALLY good thing!

Use The Preview Text (Aka “Pre-Header Text”) To Increase Your Open Rates. The preview text is the the text you see in your inbox before opening the email. My suggestion would be to have the first 40-100 characters (depending on the recipient’s email platform) intrigue the reader to want to read more.

Capture Their Attention From “Hello”. Most sales emails crash and burn in the first 1-3 sentences because they lead with stuff about the sender’s company. If you reverse that and lead with something about the recipient, their company, their competitor, etc, you’re talking about something that’s relevant to THEM!

There are obviously other things you can and should be doing, but lets start simple and concentrate on these first!
