Have you ever given thought to the importance of the last thing decision-makers read in your cold email?
Here are a few easy things for you to try;
Use a humorous sign-off;
“Gotta go my Uber is here”
“Anyway, let me know if you didn’t get this email ????”
“Sent from my iPhone while celebrating ‘Hawaiian Shirt Day’ at the office”
“Sent from my Android – Don’t worry, it’s not a robot uprising… yet.”
Use a permission-based call to action;
“Mind if I send I tell you more about how we (result you help people get)?”
“Can I send you the link so you can check it out?”
End the email with a question;
Questions inspire answers and once someone answers your email (in the affirmative) a dialogue has begun.
End the email with “social proof”
Think testimonials, accolades your company has received, a link to online reviews, a link to a case study, and a reference along with contact info.
Note: The team at Orum combined several forms of “social proof” and put them in a graphic they embedded into the email. Graphics and embedded videos “slow the scroll”.
Here’s a sample of the Orum graphic I mentioned;

Use a PS;
One of the greatest things about the “PS” is that they are almost always read!
Create mystery and intrigue in your PS by hinting at a result.
Example “Ask me how we were able to help (name of company) get double-digit response rates on their latest campaign”
You can also create “FOMO” with your PS or the final sentence of your email.
Note: Include your PS in your auto signature and change it out every 2-3 weeks. Nice way to “set it and forget it”.
How about a closing statement that appeals to their inner competitor? C-level execs are a tad competitive, no?
Inject some humor into your PS “Congrats on reading this entire email. Here’s a virtual High 5!”
So while we’ve all heard the one about the importance of first impressions;
Let’s be mindful of the last impression too!
One more thing . . .
