At some point during a buyer’s evaluation of potential partners, they are most probably going to take a trip to Google but;
They aren’t going to just Google your company . . .
They are going to Google you!
Why?
Because they can and it’s part of the new way people buy things.
When I mention this to the sales teams I train, someone will invariably come forward and say “Paul (my maiden name) they won’t find anything on me. There are no pictures of me at keg parties and there are no public records of me dissing Obama or dropping an F bomb in a blog post. There’s nothing”
Well gold star for being a grown up but the fact that there’s nothing to allow a potential customer to check you out safely, anonymously and from afar is troubling to say the least.
Why?
Because you haven’t given your prospect what they wanted.
An opportunity to see who you are . . . without YOU in the room!
This next part should make you angry . . .
There are people, right now, grabbing the attention of your prospects/clients that quite frankly aren’t deserving.
They don’t have a fraction of the talent, expertise and overall awesomeness that you bring to the party but;
The world sees them and finds them because they do something you aren’t very good at . . .
They show up and they are Googleable!
In the weeks ahead, I plan on showing you several ways to help you leave a better online trail.
Meanwhile, why don’t you go Google yourself and face the new reality.
I work with individuals and organizations to sell more!
