Yes You CAN Sell More, But . . .

You have to be willing to challenge the things you’re doing now. Duh, right? I’m glad you feel that way because the few suggestions are going to hurt your ego!

You have to be willing to evict the “Old Dog” that lives inside of you and entertain the possibility that there are new tricks to learn!

Salespeople suck at  this!

We have these egos that equate training with being punished for being inept or we just get way to comfortable telling the world that the sales tip we just heard is “Sales 101”! Meanwhile, we’re not doing that which we call basic! Kind of silly, no?

You have to stop making excuses like . . .

“I don’t have time to learn”

Meanwhile, there’s always plenty of time to watch football and the latest episode of The Walking Dead.

You might need to grow up with that one. Make the time or at least have the balls to acknowledge that you aren’t serious about your career!

“I don’t have the money”

Says the excuseaholic with the nifty new iPhone who supports their $4 a day Starbucks habit. Oh and who invests in strange companies via their 401k and yet refuses to invest in them self!

The only thing worse than this is when I hear someone blame their company for not paying for their development.

Before I sound like some dude sitting high above reality, I want to remind you that I was once broke in every conceivable way.

I was $60,000 in debt!

Both my cars were repossessed!

I felt more worthless as a man than you could ever imagine but . . .

Even then, I found a few dollars to buy a book or a cd because I knew no one else would do it for me!

“But there’s plenty of free stuff out there”

And don’t I know it, because I’m one of the dudes offering it to you but let’s be honest . . .

You’re probably not acting on a high percentage of the content you consume.

Why? Because you didn’t make the investment!

I know this firsthand, as I have and endless supply of free things I’ve downloaded that continue to litter my desktop; In what experts like to call “An Unopened State”.

That isn’t the case with the books I’ve bought on Amazon or the courses I’ve purchased and you better believe I take my personal coaches quite seriously too!

Why?

Because I made the investment!

You’re Sending A Crappy Message To Yourself!

When you refuse to invest the time and you’re too cheap to invest the money;

You’re telling yourself that you’re just not worth it!

Truth Be Told . . .

You don’t need all 24 hours each day in order to invest the time required to hone your craft.

You don’t need big bucks (or your company to pay) for you to get better at sales

You just need to grow up, lose your ego, embrace a mindset of “humble student” and . . .

Lose the excuses already!
