I realized over this weekend that I feel like a fraud. I’ve had a lot of success, growing my territory every year, and even though this year is a down year, I’m still in the top 5 for my company. I feel like I don’t really know what I’m doing, and at some point management will find out. My industry does very little in the way of sales training, so everything I do is based off my own study ad research, and my company is VERY hands-off, which is one of the things I love, but makes it hard to give myself a good self-assessment.
Am I just being foolish? Does my past success show that I do know what I’m doing, despite my feelings? Has anyone else felt that way? How did you adjust your mindset? Was it hiring @Paul, even though it was your own dime, that changed your career?
