I’m not slowing down with my sales efforts just because everyone else is!
This blog is still making it’s way to your inbox and I’m still keeping up “appearances”!
Before you write me off as someone without a life or perhaps not practicing what I preach with regard to valuing my family, I want you to know that I’m cheating.
I’m “cheating” in the sense that when it’s time to be hugging my kids and enjoying the holidays, I’m right there 100%.
When they’re off hanging out with friends and I’ve annoyed my wife enough that she dismisses me back to my man cave, I create the things that help me keep up my appearances which isn’t cheating but the next part is.
I schedule the emails I plan on sending next week . . . while everyone else is slacking and while I’m having some holiday fun!
I schedule my Tweets . . . the ones that will go out when everyone else is bringing their efforts to a halt and while I’m having fun with my kids!
I preload blog posts to go out while I’m sleeping in.
I preload the group discussions that we run in our Facebook community. They’ll probably post while I’m smoking a cigar with my brother.
I wouldn’t have it any other way . . .
Because now I can truly be at two places ( or actually several thousand places) at once.
Note: Just to be clear, I still need to make time to respond to my blog comments, tweets, updates etc but it’s not something I have to do right that second. I can always go back and do that after I’ve had my family time.
Maybe we all need to stop making this an “either or” choice and find a way to enjoy both?
I refuse to lose the better part of a month just because the rest of the world wants to.
Some food for thought!
