Are You Willing To Face Some Of Your Biggest Barriers?

In sales, our egos can sometimes get the best of us.

On one hand, we need the ego to protect us from the rejection etc, but on the other hand it hurts us.

Like thinking you can do it without help

Asking for help (and taking the time to learn something) ISN’T a sign of weakness. You do know that, right?

Having been in sales for almost 33 years years, having trained over 10,000 sales reps, having read over 1100 books and having hired numerous coaches;

I ALWAYS need help and I always need to be . . .

The humble student.

Being the humble student means you have to grow balls and acknowledge that as much as you know, you DON’T have it all figured out.

Some of you are too busy dismissing things as “Sales 101” and “Basic blocking and tackling” and meanwhile, you don’t embrace whatever it is that’s supposed to be so “basic”.

Another barrier (and forgive me for being blunt) is that you’re cheap and WON’T invest in yourself.

Free things are wonderful and as a small business owner, I love free, but, I for one, take the things that I invest in more seriously.

When I shell out my money, I actually do the work and take the action steps and basically do a ton of experimenting.

I see reps who won’t even buy a $15 book on amazon because their boss WON’T reimburse them for it.

Meanwhile, you’re willing to invest in strange companies via your 401k and piss money on your daily Starbucks habit but;

God forbid you invest in yourself?

What a horrible message to send to your brain.

Another barrier is failure to invest the time in your personal development.

You’re busy . . .I get it but if that new sales tactic that you’re blowing off could make you more money, perhaps save you lots of time (and aggravation), why wouldn’t you invest the time?

Meanwhile, there’s plenty of time for fantasy football and binge watching Netflix?

You really have to be willing to hear the excuses you’ve been telling yourself in order for you to understand how ridiculous they are.

In short . . .

To have a successful 2016 . . .

You need to evict every last one of them!
