By reading this today, you’re participating in an experiment.

By putting the phrase “Cold Calling” as the title of today’s blog post, I will at least double my amount of website traffic but;

There’s A Much Bigger Point I Want To Make

If I had put “LinkedIn”, “Social Selling” or “Social Networking” in the title, the bulk of you would NOT have read this.

Now you might be inclined to tell me “That’s because I know cold calling works” but you’d only be partially right!

You probably wouldn’t read a post on LinkedIn because you’re too busy;

Clinging too tightly to just cold calling!

Or maybe you just don’t like to deal with sh*t that makes you uncomfortable?

Perhaps you’re more of a “I’ll just stick with what I’ve always done” type of rep?

Here’s a fact for you to SERIOUSLY Consider . . .

Each decision maker you try to contact has their preferred method of contact.

Limit the ways you attempt contact, and you limit your opportunities.

Plus not everyone picks up their phone these days.

LinkedIn, gives you an opportunity to get through to them;

Without A Gatekeeper Heading You Off At The Pass!

And let’s stop making these discussions about REPLACING the cold call when;

It really should be about COMPLEMENTING the cold call.

As sales professionals we DON’T have to choose our weapon;

We’re allowed to bring the whole damn arsenal!

I’d like for you to add LinkedIn to your list of options for the next few months.

Many of you are going to resist this idea because that’s not the way you’ve always done it!

Many of you will resist this because no one ever showed you how to actually drum up business on LinkedIn.
