The Brutal Truth About Cold Calls

Posted November 13, 2018

I think many of you are getting the wrong message when it comes to cold calls and;

It’s hurting your overall sales efforts!

First, you have all these reports like the one from Leap Job that tell us that 98% of our cold calls are ineffective.

Then you have the folks at LinkedIn chiming in with a study a study of 1500 members, in a B2B buying role. Here’s what they found;

59% stated they would think less of a sales person who cold called them.

53% stated they would think less of the sales person’s company.

Oh, and just to make it interesting, you have a bunch of “experts” pronouncing the cold call dead.

And Here’s The Part That Worries Me . . .

I’m concerned that many of you read things like that and take it as justification for never picking up the phone!

I think that’s a huge mistake!

We Might Need To Acknowledge Something Painful

Part of why cold calls suck is;

Because most reps suck at making them!
