
Right now (and pretty much always) it’s about positioning ourselves apart from not only our competitors but;
Everyone else trying to get the decision maker’s attention.
For those of you who used to send a handwritten “thank you” note, I bet you stopped once the pandemic hit, right?
I get it, people are working from home, so how the heck do you send it there?
We’ll get back to that in a second.
First, a pop quiz . . .
How many decision makers typically get a handwritten “thank you” note after a call from a sales rep trying to set an appointment?
Gold star if you said “ZERO”!
So here’s what I’m suggesting (and no, not after every freakin call);
When you have a call that’s productive and especially where the decision maker was helpful, cooperative, etc;
At the end of the call, ask the following:
“(Name), I’m going to put something out in the mail to you today. What address will get it you the quickest?”
They will either tell you or they won’t.
If they do, congrats, you can now do something NOBODY else is doing right now.
If they don’t, congrats, you tried!
