Tony Robbins tells the story of this Priest who delivered the same sermon
Week after week . . . after week!
After a few weeks of this, a few members of the parish approached the priest and brought it to his attention.
Respectfully of course!
The priest heard them out, smiled and said . . .
“I’m glad you noticed because I plan on delivering the same sermon until you start to do this stuff”
This was of course Tony’s way of reminding us to take action on the things that we are very quick to say “I know. I’ve heard that one over and over” but in reality we aren’t doing them.
As a sales trainer and coach, I see this all the time, in fact I call it the “sales 101 trap”.
Its when we are quick to point out that something is basic or “Sales 101” and yet we don’t do it.
Today, you are cordially invited to take a look at the sermons you may have deemed repetitious.
Find something, that you know you should be doing, but perhaps you have written it off as too basic . . .
Perhaps it was quite unintentional because you were too busy looking for that big sermon that had the big answer?
Or maybe you just lost control and it became somewhat of a conditioned response for you to just consider it repetitious?
It doesn’t really matter why once you decide to embrace the sermon.
It matters more that you take charge and take action!
Castain High Fives the congregation and steps down from the pulpit!
