The “One Off/One On” Cold Email Tactic

If every email we send to a potential client is centered around setting a meeting, we’re going to condition the recipient NOT to open our emails, and;

If all we do is give, give, give, we condition the recipient to basically “friend-zone” us into becoming a glorified charity!

Guess what?

There’s a middle of the road approach and I call it;

“One Off/One On Messaging”

And it’s so simple, you can start immediately!

Here’s how it works;

An “off message” is one with pure value, no ask, no sales pitch.

Like an idea, a resource, simply (and genuinely) asking how your prospect is doing and how you can help, introducing your prospect to someone they’d find value in knowing right now, etc.

An “on message” is a sales (not necessarily “salesy”) message with an ask.

With the “One Off/One On” approach you aren’t bombarding prospects with sales messaging, nor are you;

Becoming a full time charity giving, giving, giving.

And this approach DOESN’T even have to be “one off/one on”;

You could change the ratio to 2 or 3 “off” messages for every “on” message.

Sales cycles have become longer and this is how you continue to court your ICP.
