Yesterday, I asked . . . What is your preferred method of acquiring new business?
Its something that many of us aren’t really conscious of . . . we just cling to our preferred or
Sometimes we even make it really clear what we don’t prefer when it comes to how we go after new business!
Here’s the million dollar question . . .
When was this ever about you?
Your prospect don’t care what you prefer!
Do Betty’s prospects say “I’d like to be contacted via a cold call because that’s what Betty prefers”?
Do Marc’s prospects say “Gee I haven’t asked Marc about HIS preferred way of contacting me lately. How freakin selfish of me!”
Do Dick’s prospects say “Thanks for giving me a choice between being contacted either by email or on a social network but I picked last time . . . Dick!”
Do Nigel’s prospects say “I’m thinking about getting active on Twitter or Linkedin but first, I wonder if Nigel gets all this social networking stuff”
The answers are NOPE, NOPE, NOPE . . and (wait for it) . . . NOPE!
It isn’t about us folks . . . it never was!
Actually, that’s only partially true . . .
It’s about us, showing up in a manner that respects how our prospects want us to show up!
And that reminds me . . . I do believe its . . .
Your Turn . . .
How the heck does an aspiring sales rock star know what someone’s preferred method of contact is?
Today’s News: Something rather awesome is going to go down right here on my website. I’m announcing it on June 4th.
