One of the things I teach in my Sales School program, is the importance of having a diversified “sales mix”
The “sales mix” would be ALL the things you do to bring home the proverbial bacon and more importantly . . . take you away from this God awful clinging to the telephone as your only means of going after business.
There are lots of things you can include in your sales mix including email, snail mail, traditional and social networking, referrals, content, events etc but . . .
How about adding a little fun into that mix?
Personally, I think business can be way too formal and stuffy at times to the point that I wish we could just give it an enema but that’s just my highly opinionated opinion!
Being the “glass half full” type of guy I am . . . I think it presents an opportunity for us to stand out!
My friends at ThinkPatented decided to take a risk and do the unthinkable . . .
Have some fun and break the rules to help promote their printing company with this video. These guys are a riot!
Being someone who takes quit a few risks in how he brands himself I will tell you that not everyone is going to find you funny but . . .
I think that’s OK !
In my case . . . They’re not the people I want to target anyway!
One more thing . . . I think creativity as in the ability to creatively offer solutions to help our clients either eliminate challenges or embrace opportunity is a damn good thing so . . .
Why not demonstrate it early in the process because . . .
Demonstrating creativity is much more powerful than telling someone you are creative.
Your Turn . . .
How have you used fun as part of your mix? Speak up and I might just feature you and your company in one of my future blog posts!
