A Cool Way To Brand A Thank You

Posted September 25, 2012

You don’t need me to remind you that we have to stand out!

Here’s a really easy thing you can do to brand your next “Thank You”

I create customized amazon gift cards. These cards aren’t physically printed, they are emailed and they can make quite an impact!

Here’s one of mine

Some other ideas/uses for a gift card like this . . .

Sales contests . . . you can design the card with the logo and or slogan for your contest

Managers . . . How about a card that reads “We Caught You . . . Doing Something Awesome!” Way to acknowledge awesomeness you awesome acknowledging mofo you!

Sales Reps . . . When was the last time you thanked a team mate for making you look awesome?

How about a themed give away in your Facebook community?

By the way, I designed that gift card myself using the following free tools

Paint

Free fonts I downloaded (Rude Metal and Jedi Star Hollow)

I created that sketched effect on my picture by using a free online photo editor (Lunapic) you can check it out here

  1. So true Paul. So often we get involved in our own work that we forget who’s helped us reach where we are… doing it right now 😀

  2. what a really cool idea! my company has been “rewarding” employees with gift cards for while now and this would be so much easier than running to the ‘box stores’ to pick up and/or order!

  3. Paul, firstly thank you for this wonderful point.

I always think of How different I can Thank my Prospect,Lead or Client because a help from one of them is always a special one for sales reps like us and they should be aware of How great we feel.

The image is a sample which is one of outputs of the thoughts.
Also, i feel having a card(similar to visiting card) which only says “THANK YOU SO MUCH” and if you can just share it with your Prospect,Lead or Clients whenever you meet them(important discussions), it would make a definite difference.

    What are your thoughts,friends?

  4. Paul, I really appreciate how you are always sharing advice on how to show appreciation for sales reps, staff, client, and prospects. You take the emphasis off of the “sales guy” and place it where it rightfully belongs…on the other person. Thanks man!

  5. Paul, I don’t mind being in the drawing, but you’ve already provided us with at least $1,000 worth of free advice here, my good man. I appreciate it (and will use it).

  6. Great ideas, bud. Emailed gift cards are so easy to send and are likely to make an impression that a boring “thanks for your business” email would not.

I always appreciate your thoughtful ideas.

    Cheers,
    Marc

    1. I agree Marc.

Finding different ways to say “Thank You” can really build our creativity muscles and at the very least . . . keeps our relationships fresh and exciting.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and contribute Marc!

  7. When I returned to hand-written thank you cards I saw an increase in business. This idea should help with special promotions or difficult customers; thanks.

  8. I love that you mentioned praising team members when they make you look good! I love that fuzzy feeling and I am going to make it my priority to acknowledge, recognize and offer up the love to someone today!

  9. I really like the idea Paul. I just started using an online greeting card company to follow up with and thank prospects and customers. They also offer gift cards but I love the fact that you can customize the gift card directly with Amazon.

  10. That’s a really sweet idea. I know you can email them, but you can get customized giftcards online as well… there is just something about having tangible in hand to send out. But, if a company doesn’t have the budget to get dye-sub printed giftcards, the email idea is the next best thing!
Thanks for sharing this idea… 🙂

  11. I had no idea you had a real job, too! When do you sleep?

I’ve used Amazon on numerous occasions in business. Just a couple of weeks ago after acting like a fool and assuming (when will I ever learn?) my prospect to be a Cowboys fan because you can see the stadium from his office, I saved face by sending him a New Orleans Saints stop sign. $6.00 on Amazon. He called me to express his surprise, to thank me and to promise me his business when they were ready.

  12. Sleep? What the heck is sleep Traci? 🙂

You did a great thing by doing that and truth be told, I screw up much worse than that. I always use those opportunities to turn it into a “wow”.
Now if I can only get good enough to never screw up in the first place!
    Thanks Traci!

    Cheers!

  13. You Rock Paul!

I love the concept and I love how you continue to share and engage your network with great content and learning! Thank you!

    All the Best Always~

  14. Great idea, who doesn’t love to get something free in an email! What a great way to say thanks and so your appreciation!

  15. ditto to Ryan Miller’s comment. I like the on line company, but e-mail and customized gift cards are really unique (to me). Thanks for making me think and chuckle every day..

  16. That’s a terrific idea, Paul! I’ll add it to my arsenal. I’m an amateur photographer & I like to use my own photos printed on blank note cards, too. Folks like that personal touch……

  17. You are far from an amateur photographer Jess!

I’ve seen your photos on Facebook and you are awesome my friend!

People sure do love that persona touch and its a great way for you to bring the ultimate, sustainable competitive advantage to the party . . . YOU!
    Thanks for stopping by!

  18. Once again you come through with timely and cost effective advice on how to stand out. I never would have come up with customized emailed gift cards. Awesome as usual.

  19. Paul,
Great ideas and cool thank you card. I still like the send a ball idea 🙂 and actually I received my first one the other day from a mutual friend of ours Noah.

    Have fun,
    Jamie

  20. Don’t forget the honest-to-goodness for-real stamp in the corner! Notes used to be the norm, now they’re the exception. Great way to stand out. Thanks Paul.

  21. Paul – spot on as usual – and you know me, I’m for anything that expresses gratitude and keeps you top of mind with others. I recently sent a real printed thank-you card (through an online greeting card site) to an employee at one of my clients, and included a Dunkin Donuts card. Not only did the recipient thank me a bunch, so did the owners. He was really impressed that I went out of my way to do this. Now everytime I visit I’m welcomed like they’ve known me for years, even though it’s only been about 4-5 months (getting a big re-order tomorrow!)
