I feel like I’ve begun many of my blog posts with the same line (I’ll eventually think of a new one) but . . .

We’re all moving light speed these days!

Sometimes we assume a friend, a coworker, a family member or even that person sitting next to us doesn’t have their fair share of challenges.

Its hard to see it because we can all be rather self absorbed . . .

In our own struggles!

I’ll never forget that morning,  in January 2011, when I walked into a local sit down deli without a smile and the weight of the world on my shoulders!

My wife was having breast cancer surgery and I had a million thoughts running through my head . . . I was scared!

A stranger sitting across the table attempted to make conversation with me and I politely gave him one word answers.

I just wasn’t in the mood but he persisted and soon we were engaged in a discussion about music. I soon learned that he was also a musician.

It was an awesome conversation and most of all . . . it helped me forget about things for a while and lift my spirits!

We shook hands at the end of the chat and went back to our busy lives but . . .

This person will never know how lost I was when I walked into that place.

When you see someone who looked like I did that day, its easy to see that someone is struggling. I wasn’t wearing it very well!

How about the ones who wear a smile well but meanwhile they’re struggling?

Perhaps a more important question is . . .

Will we jump off our own treadmill long enough to be human?

Today, each of us could easily give someone hope, restore their faith and maybe even save a life.

Yes, we’re all sales people, business owners, executives and aspiring rock stars in our own right but . . .

We’re also sons, daughters, husbands, wives, brothers, sisters, neighbors and friends!

Sometimes we forget . . . I know I do!
