A Blog Post Critiquing Your Community On How They Are Commenting.
No, I didn’t make that one up and I’ve witnessed this one at least a half a dozen times over the last year. Don’t get me wrong, the author feels they are helping their community get better at praising them or something but it still plays out as if the author is being an ass.
Please allow me to explain . . . “Theater of The Mind” style.
Imagine if you will, a singer performing at a local club. At the end of the song, everyone applauds. The singer waits until the applause is done and tells everyone “I think you could have done a better job. Now if you really want to get noticed by the performer, you need to clap like this”
Or imagine, you thank someone for something they did for the community only to have them coach you on how lousy your “thank you” was.
You know, I still remember (quite vividly) writing blog posts and getting zero comments.
Don’t ever forget where you’ve been folks . . . appreciate your audience!
A Blog Post Stating You Have Nothing To Post!
I need to clarify this one.
I’m not talking about a post that basically says “What are your ideas?” “What’s going on in your world that we need to address here?” . . . I’m talking about a post . . . dedicated . . . to the fact that you have nothing to say.
Please join me again in The Sales Playbook Theater of The Mind
Imagine if you will, being summoned to a meeting with 10,000 + other people only to have the person say “Sooooooooooooo I got nothing. That is all”
Now in their defense, I know, what’s it like to sit down and come up empty in the “What shall I write about” department and have come up with a radical new cure for it.
It’s called (get this) “If you don’t have something to say . . . Shush”
Probably a good day not blog!
From a sales perspective . . . that’s a great day to put that time into some of the other elements of your “sales mix”!
So here’s the bottom line . . .
There will come a point when you will find your voice and your community will acknowledge and thank you for it . . . That’s a particularly cool time for you to appreciate them and make sure that you aren’t get caught up in yourself.
Be respectful
Be grateful and when you have nothing to say . . .
Be Quiet!
What are your thoughts and no I won’t coach you on how to respond 🙂
Thank you for being a part of the Sales Playbook Community . . . I really do appreciate it!
