Right about now I start to worry about lots and lots of sales people here in the US.
It’s a few days before the 4th of July festivities and so begins the “mental check out”!
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday will be useless days for lots of people. And since we’re off on the 4th;
That’s and entire week that’s about to get f*cked!
Many will think no one is around to buy or that their prospects have also “mentally checked out”!
They will think that next week will be even more useless because of the actual holiday and the fact that it’s a huge vacation week but;
They will never actually decide!
Decide to work and give it a go anyway or . . .
Decide to just take the week off so . . .
Nothing gets done and they remain in some sort of limbo!
It doesn’t end there.
Sometimes they get lonely and they need to criticize the efforts of their teammates for trying next week. You know, the old “I don’t know why you’re wasting your time. Nobody’s around this week”. Back when I was a younger rep I met mucho assholes like that.
Here’s the deal . . .
Pain and opportunities don’t schedule themselves during non holiday weeks. They show up whenever they want to and right now as you read this . . .
Someone is in need of what you sell!
But . . .
I’m not advocating that you even work at all next week.
I’m simply telling you to stop making excuses or simply be at peace with your decision to take some time to recharge.
Going through the motions and barely showing up for the next week will put you in limbo.
That’s no place for you to be my friend!
