
What do you do if you’re having trouble personalizing a cold email?
Let’s say, you’ve tried to do your homework prior to writing the email and you’re coming up with a whole lotta nothing;
Here’s a super quick idea;
Personalize for the role, specifically challenges someone in their role faces, so;
If you’re sending an email to a Chief Marketing Officer, what are the challenges you typically help that persona solve?
In the spirit of keeping the cold email, brief, and less confusing;
Focus on 1 challenge in your email.
This approach works brilliantly when you’re approaching multiple stakeholders within an account (aka “multi-threading)
You can even (with your client’s permission) reference how you’ve helped others in their role, industry, etc., conquer their challenges.
One more thing . . .
What happens AFTER you send a cold email? In other words;
How do you follow that up, and;
What happens after that, and after that too?
Am I overthinking this? Hardly!
The average sales rep DOESN’T have more than 3 prospecting emails in their arsenal, let alone;
A premeditated sequence, so;
They end up “winging it”, and quite frankly, it shows!
That’s unfortunate considering most sales cycles are running way longer than they have in the past.
