I have a cold calling tip for you that you’ve probably NEVER heard before let alone implemented.
Ready?
Get in the habit of either using your webcam or your smartphone to video yourself as you make SOME of your cold calls.
And no, you’re not broadcasting, you’re actually creating “game tape” that will give you an audio and visual snapshot of your cold calls.
Why audio and video and not just audio?
Because video is going to clue you into something that you’re probably oblivious to and that’s;
How you look is how you sound!
So if I look uncomfortable, uptight, nervous, unsure, or;
If I look confident, happy, relaxed, etc.;
That’s the vibe that the person at the other of that phone gets, and;
Prospects typically respond in kind!
Now you might be thinking “I can accomplish that by keeping a mirror by my phone” and you’d be partially right.
The mirror by the phone thing is a great way to keep yourself in check during the call, but;
Videoing yourself so you have “game tape” helps you analyze your performance later.
So start today by videoing a few of your calls, and;
Review the video for all the audio things like your message, your tone, your “ums” and “you knows”, how you respond to objections, your confidence level, etc., then;
Look at your facial expressions and body language during the call knowing that;
Even though your prospect can’t see you;
Things like smiles, awkward looks, etc.;
Have this crazy way of being communicated to the person at the other end of that call!
