I managed to check another item off my summer bucket list last week (camping).
It was nice to slow down and enjoy a beautiful landscape and I’m not going to lie, there’s nothing like the smell of bacon and eggs when you’re camping!
The best part was that I was 99% off the grid meaning . . .
Almost no blogging (I wrote a blog post before I left and timed delivery for my first day camping)
No calls
Almost no Social Networking because disappearing from those platforms for 3 or 4 days is like disappearing for a month in “real time”
All tolled, I spent 30 minutes a day, by choice on Castain Training Systems but . .
It was thought out ahead of time which brings me to the point . . .
Sometimes we do a brilliant job of planning our vacations, staycations, “me time” and even our weekends . . .
but we fail to set up the barriers as in . . .
Am I on the grid and if I’m on the grid, at what point do I say “ENOUGH!”?
Am I off the grid and if I’m off the grid, at what point do I need to make a cameo?
Or as the artist formerly known as “Uncle Paul” chose . . . partially on the grid.
And then there’s the tricky part . . .
Remaining true to your decision and respecting your own barriers!
Something to think about this summer as you remember to stop and smell the roses!
