Earlier this week, we talked about How To Get Out Of A Rut. I intentionally left something out because it deserves it’s own post.
I’m going to warn you that, more than likely you will dismiss it because . . .
1) On the surface it’s simple and not the big sexy answer you’re looking for.
2) You’re not willing to tell your ego to go wait in the car while you embrace it.
Ready?
Ask someone for help!
Yep! When you feel either stuck or in a place where you aren’t getting the results you need;
Ask someone for help!
Not an easy thing to do when we carry these industrial sized egos!
Asking for help comes in many forms.
It could be going to your manager and letting them know about your challenge and asking for advice.
It could be going to someone who’s getting the results you want and simply asking them to explain how they do it.
It could be in the form of taking on a mentor or a coach.
And (sorry if this is a tad personal) it’s about turning on your Spiritual GPS and asking for help there too!
Getting back to that ego thing for a minute . . .
When you ask for help, make sure your cup is empty so you can fill it with new perspectives and insight.
In other words . . . be open to new things and stop clinging to your old habits.
Stop telling people “I know that” because, truthfully . . .
You don’t know dick!
You think you do but in the whole scope of things . . . you don’t (and neither do I)
Maybe that’s what limits us . . .
Thinking we know more than we actually do.
Failure to do what we know and then . . .
Lacking the courage to ask someone else for their help when what we know and what we do aren’t working!
