How To Improve Your Prospecting Chops In Only 3-5 Minutes Each Day

Before I share this super simple tip with you I feel a need to put a quick disclaimer out there;

This ISN’T meant to be a quick fix nor is it meant to be THE only way to get better on the phone;

It should be one of many things you’re doing to improve your prospecting chops.

Ready?

At the start of your day, call your voicemail and leave yourself a message.

This message could be the actual opening statement you use when calling a prospect.

A typical voicemail you might leave.

Perhaps some talking points for a specific call you have coming up?

How you would respond to typical objections.

Keep it 30 seconds or less.

Do the same thing at the end of your day.

Total time spent so far: 60 seconds

At some point during your day, take 1 minute to evaluate each voicemail.

Pretend you’re the person receiving that call.

Make it your mission to flag one, tiny, 1% improvement.

Think about what you’re saying and how you’re saying it.

Spend no more than 1-2 minutes evaluating each voicemail.

Total time spent: 3-5 minutes.

The Aggregation Of Marginal Gains

“It means the identification of a number of areas in which you can make small gains, which all add up to something much greater.”

A phrase coined by Sir Dave Brailsford –  this philosophy was used by the UK cycling team to win numerous Olympic Gold Medals .

Here’s what James Altucher has to say about improving, 1% EVERY DAY;

” Improve a little each day. It compounds. When 1% compounds every day, it doubles every 72 days. Compounding tiny excellence is what creates big excellence.”

Do this daily and you have 14 MORE opportunities to get better!

Each Month = 56 MORE opportunities to get better.

At the end of a year = 672 opportunities to get better and;

672 MORE opportunities than you have now and just for sh*ts and giggles;

672 MORE opportunities than your competitors!

Additionally;

It helps you work your prospecting muscle groups DAILY;

Even when you’re not making outbound calls!
