I came across really interesting status update someone posted on LinkedIn today.
The thing that made it interesting it is that the author presented what was essentially a pitch;
As a fun (and funny) story!
Here’s what he wrote;
“1988 was a memorable year for me, Rick Astley was a global legend, I started work at just 16 and I first saw Sage desktop software.
That was 30 years ago. Whilst Rick and myself have reinvented ourselves to remain fresh, and keep ahead of the time, that cannot be said for desktop software.
There is now a better way with products like Xero , bank feeds and autoentry that save you huge amounts of time, give you up to date information to make decisions with.
Sadly all good things come to an end, and its time to ditch the desktop.
You can use this new found time to do what matters to you, whether be develop your business or have more family time.
What you should also consider is that Rick, Xero and myself will;
a. Never give you up.
b. Let you down.
c. Never Run around or desert you.
d. Never make you cry.
e. Never Say goodbye
f. Never tell a lie or hurt you.
Desktop software however?”
Yet another example of how stories need to be used in the sales process!
I’m actually going to be sharing several examples of how your peers are using stories to set themselves apart from their competition.
It all takes place this Thursday, October 11th, at 11:30 am EST.
