Please forgive me for saying this but . . . Rich doesn’t want to be like you!
It’s nothing personal and nothing to hate Rich for but it is what it is.
He actually refuses to be like you because when he’s like you (and everyone else) . . . he get’s lost in the sauce!
Rich does a lot of things different like taking something that would be otherwise boring and rather mechanical and adding a bit of “Rich” into the mix.
Take for example this “Out of Office Reply” I received from Rich this week.
Lucky for you, I am in Ocean City Maryland with my girls.
You are lucky because you can work with Jane Jones while I am working on my tan. Jane loves chocolate and making our customers happy. Reach her at (555) 555-5555
Call me crazy, but there’s a lot of “human” in that message!
While we’re on the subject, Derek Hoffman doesn’t want to be like you either!
Derek uses his voicemail to gently remind his clients and prospects that he blogs and offers valuable resources.

I could go on and on but instead I want to tone down what might have been a really harsh message when I said they don’t want to be like you.
The truth of the matter is that they don’t want to be like me and I’m their coach. I know . . . OUCH!
They’re too busy being themselves and their clients absolutely love the breath of fresh air!
It all starts by looking at your messaging and simply asking yourself . . .
Why am I going about it this way and . . .
How could I change this up and add something that no one else can add . . .
ME!
Maybe its time to bring more of who we are into what we do.
