This is a post that quite frankly, I should have written several months ago, BEFORE many of you set the dates for your annual Sales Kickoff Meeting but what the heck;
There are many of you who have clients and prospects who go on “Mental Sabbatical” right after Thanksgiving and that means things slow down radically for you.
So you get through all of this and just as things pick up, you have your annual Sales Kickoff Meeting in January.
Forgive me for being more than a bit blunt, but;
Why would you spend time on that just as things are picking up again?
Seems to me that it might be a better use of a rep’s time if this were done in December?
Also, come January, while all your competitor’s are doing their “Rah Rah”, and talking about all the great things they’re going to be doing;
You and your team will actually be doing it!
FYI, people like me (who never discount) discount prices during slower months, like December. So there’s a financial benefit too! Like 25% in my case which represents a hefty savings!
And for all you sales leaders who don’t do any kind of kick off/training;
How can you expect your team to invest in themselves if you WON’T invest in them?
