I can’t tell you how many people I’ve heard offer this simple advice but here it is, uncut, unfiltered and unpolished . . .
Be helpful to your network!
How?
Ask people how you can help them?
Watch and listen for opportunities to jump in and help.
At the end of every conversation . . . position yourself as a resource.
Respond for requests for help . . . even if its to politely and respectfully tell them you’re unable to help.
Send no strings attached resources to your network every 4-6 weeks.
Introduce people who should know each other.
Time Out . . . Don’t you dare think that any of this represents you having to empty your bank account.
Be willing to give of your time and of yourself.
I started doing something about a month ago that has been well received by my network.
I start my day on Twitter by asking a very simple question . . .
“Who can I help today?”
Givers are often well received by their network!
They also stand out!
I guess that might lead us to the portion when I practice what I preach by asking you . . .
How may I be helpful to you today?
FYI: We are less than a week away from the release of my 50+ page Social Networking Playbook. Stay tuned for details!
