
THE first thing to consider correcting when potential clients aren’t responding is actually two things that are joined at the hip (stay with me).
Relevance and Speed To Relevance meaning how quickly you demonstrate that reading, listening, or viewing, your message is worth the time because you address things they care about.
That’s why I like to lead off with “I noticed that” and then fill in the blank with something I learned while researching their company. Preferably, a trigger event.
When I lead with this in an email, the preview text shows relevance and not fluffy, salesy, nonsense.
When I lead with this while leaving a voicemail, It grabs their attention within 4-6 seconds.
The problem with MOST sales messaging is that it leads with things the recipient doesn’t care about. Then the recipient promptly disregards and deletes it!
Decision makers DON’T have the time to wait for you to demonstrate that your message is relevant.
So go ahead and look at the emails you’ve been sending.
Tape your end of the calls you’ve been making and the voicemails you’ve been leaving.
See if you can check the relevance and speed to relevance boxes! If not, then my suggestion would be to adjust accordingly!
