
Most sales reps make a snap decision that totally impedes the quality of their prospecting efforts.

They fail to have a premeditated prospecting sequence and end up;
Deciding on what they are going to say as they reach for the phone or the keyboard of their computer.
Now you might be thinking;
“But I have email templates and phone scripts” but that’s not really where I’m going with this!
Do you have a premeditated flight plan for your prospecting where you know what you will say and the method by which you will deliver that message (LinkedIn, Phone, Email, Snail Mail, Video, Text, Something Creative)?

This is why I advise my coaching clients to plan their sequence in “3 Touch Mini Campaigns”.
Example:
Touch #1 LinkedIn Connect Request. Wait a day or two, then;
Touch #2 “Thank you for connecting email and additional contact info exchange”. Wait 1 week and then;
Touch #3 Send along a helpful resource.
This obviously isn’t the WHOLE prospecting sequence but it’s super simple to plan in threes.
When you do this you;
Dramatically improve the quality of the message because it isn’t thought of spontaneously as you’re reaching for a phone.
You can also use each touch to set up the next touch
You can easily plan your next three touches based on the prior three.
The example I provided here is a LinkedIn 3 touch sequence and yes there are additional touches in the campaign.
You can create these for every type of messaging method (LinkedIn, Phone, Email, Snail Mail, Video, Text, Something Creative), and;
You absolutely can and should mix and match between types of messages and methods of delivery.
