In this week’s podcast, we take a look at 3 areas with your powerpoint that might just need a little tune up
1) A way cool memory technique so you don’t have to look at the powerpoint. By the way, most people aren’t aware that they in fact break eye contact with their audience to see what’s on their own slide. In fact, some abuse this all together by talking to their powerpoint . . . Not Bueno!
2) How Much Is Enough? In other words . . . how much content should we have on each slide? I’ll offer you two different schools of thought on this one and let you choose the style that fits you best! Oh, and can we please stop with the reading of lengthy mission statements and quotes that are up on our slides? The problem with this is that you are reading at a different pace than your audience and it creates dissonance which inspires disconnection.
3) Powerpoint Reliance: We need to “Step Away From The Powerpoint” and inspire and facilitate discussion. I cover several techniques to get your audience thinking and interacting and most of all . . . getting your powerpoint away from a boring lecture.
Finally, I want to remind you of something that is forgotten quite often.
Rude awakening coming atcha in 3,2,1 . . .
That powerpoint isn’t the message . . . YOU ARE!
I have some great content lined up for you if you will scroll down and have a listen. Now if you are not in the mood to further your growth this weekend, no worries. My suggestion would be to download this podcast on I-Tunes and allow me to be your educational companion during your drive time this week!
