Did you ever stop to think about the impact of your workspace on your overall level of positivity?
And before we go any further, I’m so not talking about cleaning up and organizing your workspace. Although, if you ever notice seagulls hovering your workspace, that might be mother nature’s way of saying “Clean up that hobo box” . . . just sayin!
Any who . . .
Now since we spend at least part of our day in our workspace, then perhaps you and I need to get more intentional about the kind of things that surround us.
Here are a few thoughts:
1) Your “Why’s”! “Why’s” are critical my friend. “Why’s” are pictures of the things you want most in your life! The things you are working for and even the things you have obtained as a result of your hard work. Kind of cool to reflect upon after someone just kicked your ass on the phone or even when, dare I say, you need a good swift kick to break you out of procrastinating! For more about my journey with “Why’s” please click here
2) How About this Free Poster designed to remind you that EVERYDAY is the right day to hunt for business. You’re welcome!
3) An inspirational quote that makes you want to rip freakin bumpers off of cars!
4) This Free Poster that reminds you to slow down and acknowledge the people you come in contact with.
5) How about a trigger word or phrase that gets you into the Jedi mindset. Just for the heck of it, how about a new trigger word each month that will serve as your focus?
6) And no future rock star’s cubicle would be complete without an I-Pod with this Playlist on it to get you pumped, primed and ready to roll!
And don’t you dare let anyone puke on your motivation parade by giving you grief about having things up that motivate you!
Unless I’m mistaken, the IRS taxes you the same whether motivation is induced or it occurs on its own!
So those are just a few of my thoughts for a pimping of positivity in your workspace!
Please chime in and share yours with us!

I value the work environment a lot, I admit. My company’s was built with a clear in mind, the idea of not oppressing people (both employees and clients), offering open spaces and lots of “Wow factor” stuff all around.
As a marketing studio I think it’s important to give a fresh image to people visiting your headquarters, after all you partially are where you work.
As always – great job Uncle Paul. Today’s quote on my page a day calendar. “Here’s how I’m going to beat you. I’m going to outwork you. That’s it. That’s all there is to it”… Pat Summitt
Thanks Uncle Paul!
I have a huge sign on my monitor that reads “WHAT DO I HAVE TO LOSE??????”
I also have your EVERYDAY poster, your EVERYONE HAS A STORY poster and your MONEY HOURS SCHEDULE posted on my wall. Great reminders every day!
Pual, Since I have worked from a home office most of the 38 years of being in the sales business…. my office environment has been important to me..especially when the kiddos were around.
If its ok with you..I would like to share a free e-book from one of my long time business mentors… in Chapter 4 Phil talks about space management in your personal eco-system… how important it is for a success mind set.. he is so right on.
Check it out here-> http://philiphumbert.com/Eco-System.htm
Its free and I do not derive any compensation from recommending Dr. Phil Humbert resources… he is just a great guy with down to earth strategies… John
Thanks for the comments folks and thank you to John for sharing that cool link.
Respectfully,
Paul Castain
Since moving back into inside sales, it’s even more important for me. I’ve got several items to keep me motivated, including my “dream wall” and a print out of Vince Lombardi’s “What it takes to be number one”
I love it Ken!
Thanks!
