I have to admit that I’m a bit of a dick this time of year!

I see all these posts on LinkedIn saying how 2018 is going to be the best year ever and I want to say;

AMEN!

Not because I believe its going to be a great year but because what they’re writing is a glorified prayer!

Seriously why would 2018 be different than any other year?

This “best year ever” miraculously appears because we’re positive and optimistic?

Meanwhile;

We have no plan to make it so!

So if you’d REALLY like to have an awesome 2018, you need to stop saying it and;

Get off your ass and make it so!

Here are three super quick thoughts to help.

First, you’re going to need to have a realistic plan in place. My definition of “realistic” is one that you’ll actually implement and continue to implement beyond the third week in January (when the average person goes back to their old habits).

Next, you need to tell your ego to leave the room so you can take a look in the mirror.

You need to look at where you’re weak and where you’re strong so you can optimize your plan to kick ass in 2018.

Finally, you’re going to need to look at EVERY bullsh*t excuse you’ve been telling yourself and evict them from your life!

Like mentally checking out for 3 weeks during the holidays because you told yourself nobody does business during this time.

Not taking the time to get better at your craft because you tell yourself you don’t have time.

Not investing in yourself because you say you don’t have the money. Meanwhile you piss money on things like Starbucks, early upgrades on your phone and if you’re like me;

Way too many cigars!

So if you REALLY want to have “The BEST Year EVER!”

Please don’t think that the universe will hand it over to you just because you had a short lived bout of piss and vinegar!
