I’m not one for “Go get ‘em tiger” speeches and truth be told, I really despise them this time of year!
Mostly because they typically amount to a Red Bull adrenaline rush complete with the debilitating crash!
Having said that, this post may bother you if you’re expecting, yet another, typical “New Year’s” post!
Strap in . . .
Stop putting your head down and doing nothing!
When you come across an idea that makes sense to you, you need to take action!
You need to stop putting things off and you need to evict procrastination from your life!
It’s Not All Your Fault!
In your defense, you have more distractions at your disposal than any other time in the history of mankind.
Our average attention span is about 9 seconds.
We are interrupted an average of 7 times per hour!
So that good idea
That action item
That good intention . . .
Get’s swept away faster than you can say “Where the hell did my year just go?”
Please change that in 2015!
Don’t ever leave the scene of a good idea without scheduling some sort of action item.
One thing I always tell my coaching clients is that we’re not truly committed about something until it’s scheduled. And once it’s scheduled, give it the same respect you’re willing to give others when you set an appointment and keep it!
I could go on and on but the bottom line is this . . .
A bad year doesn’t wait until New Year’s Eve to show up!
Here’s the good news . . .
You have the ability, right now, to begin taking action and . . .
If you make this whole business of making action a habit;
You begin to create MOMENTUM!
Momentum that might just have you feeling a little bit better this time next year!
