There is one statistic that you will hear me preach over and over again. I’ll tell you why in a minute, but first the statistic. According to NYC Research firm BASEX, the average US employee loses 2.1 hours per day to interruptions. Not being one who can just leave the statistic to stand on its own, I always have a need to beat it up a bit.
First: While your mileage may vary, we lose more than the actual time lost in the interruption. We lose time getting our head back into the game, worse yet, the interruption(s) may become the safe activity for us to cling to avoid high yield activities. In which case, the aftermath is much more severe.
Numero Dos: At 2.1 hours per day you lose (at a minimum) 1 1/4 days per week, 1 business week per month and about 3 months per year. Before we dismiss this, would you turn away a 3 month bonus from your boss? What if we only get back half of the 2.1 hours per day, could that make a difference? Keep going until you hit, “Hell Yes!”
That’s our focus today . . . How to get more control of our time!

I’ve taken the liberty of putting together a PDF with all the tips but you will want to do both if you want complete ownership of the material.
Oh and before I forget, I like to use the 2.1 hours per day study, because it hit home with me. It hit home because that was my world before I took control!
So scroll down, have a listen and make a commitment to yourself to try at least one of the suggestions!
