One of the biggest changes we’ve seen in the ever changing landscape of sales is the dreaded “shifting of the eyeballs”!
The shifting of the eyeballs is just a fancy smancey way of saying that our prospects look to additional places to get their buying information.
One of these places is their social network!
Take a look around you and take note of what people have attached to their hands. It’s their smart phones and guess what they’re doing?
They’re asking their networks for advice as in . . .
Does anyone know of a printer or a service that does ________________
They are looking to see what their social networking peers have to say about vendors, products and services.
It’s to this end that the model we once knew as “B2B” has now evolved to “B2B2B”!
But wait, there’s more . . .
They’re also spilling their guts on these social networks leaving a trail of clues for all those who know how to leverage them and guess what else they’re doing?
Earmuffs Kids . . .
They’re pissing and moaning about things that aggravate them!
All of these things present a “target rich environment” for the sales professional who is flexible enough to go where the eyeballs have shifted.
More to come on this subject but for now, you might want to check out our webinar on how aspiring sales rock stars can use Twitter to increase sales opportunities! Details here
Meanwhile . . .It’s your turn . . .
Fess up . . . Have you gone to where the eyeballs have shifted? How do you use social networking to create opportunities?
