Why Every Sales Rep Needs Permission Based Communication

Imagine a potential client coming over to you and saying “Feel free to contact me, I’m interested in any ideas, resources etc you can offer”

I think its safe to say that it puts you in a much better position than someone you cold called, right?

But how do you create the first scenario while minimizing the second one?

By getting their permission to email them ideas, tips, resources etc.

Now right about now, you must be thinking “My marketing department does that” but I see a flaw in that argument;

It’s not the marketing department’s job to market YOU. That’s your job!

Now when you get someone’s permission to email them, and you send along things that actually help them, you begin to demonstrate your expertise.

You gain respect, credibility and;

Over time you develop (here comes Uncle Paul’s favorite word)

And that’a a word you should LOVE as a sales rep!

It means closeness and kinship and those are the types of feelings that prompt people to pick up the phone and call YOU for a change.

Those are the types of feelings that expedite deals!

If this makes sense, then let me ask you . . .
