There are two types of email you need to have in your sales arsenal.
Consider these as categories with multiple flavors but here they are.
The first category is prospecting emails and I bet you’re all over this one.
These are the emails you send out to people, who haven’t opted in to receive your emails.
You’re approaching them to hopefully set an appointment, schedule a call or demo etc.
The second category is where the bulk of the sales population falls way short!
These are the emails you are sending to people who have opted in to receive emails from you.
The key phrase here is “Opted in” as in “Hell yes, I’d actually like to receive info from you”
Time Out: You might be thinking “My marketing department already does this” and that’s where you’re making a GRAVE MISTAKE!
Marketing departments market the company, NOT You and potential clients buy you first!
So when you send helpful ideas, tips, suggestions, resources etc to potential clients;
It builds YOUR relationship with someone who has basically said “I’d like to get to know you better”
It establishes your expertise and credibility and also a sense of propinquity!
Do you have your own email list comprised of people who have actually opted in?
Which type of email recipient do you think converts quicker;
Someone that asked to receive your emails or
Someone who had that decision made for them?
