
A few months ago I received an email with a simple, but yet brilliant subject line;
“Nice to meet you Paul”
The subject line was warm, inviting, and most of all;
It made me want to open the email.
Here’s where the tactic took a terrible turn;
They continued sending the same email, with the same subject line, once to twice a month, for 3 months now.
First, let me acknowledge that I’m at fault here too for not giving them a courtesy “No thanks”, but;
Using the same email and subject line does nothing to solidify what should be a courtship between you and the prospect.
Sadly, most reps have only a small handful of emails in their arsenal, and;
Those emails are almost identical to the ones their competitors are sending, so;
Since the prospect recognizes the template;
They disregard and delete.
