According to research from University of Scranton, 92% of us WON’T achieve our goals this year!
I could hypothesize all day long as to why but instead, I’ll offer the part that nobody has the balls to tell you.
In a sales context, its because many of you are about to start the year with all that “rah rah, New Year’s bullsh*t;
And NO ACTION;
For like 15 minutes and will then go promptly back to your old habits.
Instead, YOU need to roll your sleeves up and;
Get to work!
GREAT years don’t happen because you’ve put forth some kind of decree.
They don’t happen by affirmation (You know, all those “This is going to be a great year” statements we make at midnight on New Year’s Day)
They happen when you hit a threshold where;
The results you’ve been getting are no longer acceptable and;
You’re finally willing to Do something about it!
Because,You know, you’re done with the bullsh*t!
Some of you are going to have to change some things with your work ethic next year!
Some of you are going to have to evict the old dog in you that won’t allow you to learn NEW Tricks!
Some of you need to become more coachable!
Some of you need to tell your ego to leave long enough for you to realize that you DON’T know as much as you think you do. Note: My ego and I fight about this one regularly!
Some of you are going to have to stop being a cheap bastard and invest in yourself.
Some of you are going to have to stop spewing excuses like;
“I don’t have the time”.
“My boss won’t pay for my training or reimburse me for books”
No one, and I repeat, NO ONE should want your success more than YOU!
2020 and the new decade can absolutely be yours for the taking but;
You’re going to need a plan.
You’re going to need to evict some sh*tty beliefs and habits.
You’re going to need flexibility to modify your plan when you get “punched in the mouth”.
And you’re going to need to keep pressing onward AFTER the third week in January (you know, when the average person has already tapped out).
