So I bet you read the title and figured I’d write something about hanging out with your family or perhaps “taking a chill” and relaxing?
Not today!
Instead, I’ll offer you a strong reason to slow down and a productive method to help you get there.
One of the best reasons I would offer is that when you slow down, you quiet your mind and give it a fighting chance to sort through challenges and opportunities in your life.
Think I’m kidding?
How many times have you caught yourself saying “I don’t even have time to think”?
Perhaps that’s the problem?
Here’s a simple exercise to get you started (and no, I’m not going to have you chanting some wacky stuff you might hear at some hippy convention)
Start by marking your path with a journal.
In other words . . . “documenting the steps you take towards a specific outcome”
Perhaps it’s a challenge you are facing.
An opportunity that you leveraged.
How you brought in that cool new account or lost that other account.
“Marking your path” can also involve detailing steps you took to get through dealing with a difficult person or how you were able to cross another goal of your list this year.
You did set goals and you are accomplishing at least some of them . . . right?
These are all lessons that can be accessed again . . .
If you take the time to mark your path!
And if by chance you’re not digging this exercise, then perhaps this free PDF with 50 Ways To Rock Your Journal might offer mucho other ways for you to give yourself some awesome “Thinking Time”!
Enjoy!
