There’s an email tactic that absolutely gets under my skin.
And before I tell you what it is, I want to tell you that its being used WAY TOO MUCH!
It’s typical.
It’s annoying and
You will almost certainly condition the recipient NOT to open your emails in the future.
Ready?
It’s forwarding the email you sent with another note and as if that wasn’t lame enough;
Forwarding it again with another note.
And yes, I’ve had the same sh*tty email forwarded to me multiple times but here’s the point;
If someone doesn’t respond to your first email;
Try a different email
Pick up the damn phone
Try something creative
Reach out to them on a social network
Send them a FedEx or something via snail mail
Stop by
But; for the love of God;
Do Something DIFFERENT!
And think about what you’re really doing when you continue to forward a message that wasn’t responded to;
You’re telling a potential client that you’re incapable of helping them find creative solutions to their challenges; because you can’t even find one for yours!
Also, you might think that you’re somehow being persistent, but I would argue that you’re being lazy!
