I was having a virtual cigar with a friend of mine who lives in Florida a few weeks ago.
The whole thing started with him texting me a picture of a beer and a cigar at his favorite cigar lounge, but then the conversation got serious.
He told me that even though they had just reopened, there were rumors that things were going to shut down again due to a spike in new Covid-19 cases.
Not even a week later, he let me know that they shut it down.
This brings us to a rather unpleasant topic, and certainly NOT one that any of us want to think about;
What the hell are we going to do if things shut down again?
And no, I’m not talking about your favorite cigar lounge, pub, or Starbucks;
I’m talking about business and all the hesitation, lack of funds, etc that keep deals from moving forward.
There are 3 questions that I believe you should ponder from a sales perspective.
“What could I have done differently six months to a year prior to shutdown?”
For some of you it will be managing your time differently/better.
For others it might be building a stronger/more extensive pipeline.
Take the time to ponder this question and then brainstorm it with your sales team.

For some it’s taking to long to react, others it might be neglecting their prospecting activities because they felt it inappropriate.
