It was the great Jack Welch who said “An organization’s ability to learn, rapidly and translate that learning into action is the ultimate competitive advantage”
While I’ll be the first to yell “heck yes Jack” and perhaps head butt some people to burn off the adrenaline, studies tell us we are missing the mark big time!
According to ASTD’s 2008 State of Industry Report, the average US worker participates in only 1 day of career skills training each year. USA Today reports that only 58% of our population ever read a non fiction book after High School.
I could go on and on but the point still remains the same . . . we all need to get back to school.
But how and more specifically . . . how can we do it on a shoestring budget?
I have a few resources for you that I believe you will find useful.
1) I’ve put together a podcast containing several ideas that I hold at the core of my own personal development plan. Note: On the Podcast I gave the date as “Monday, August 22nd” . . . OOPS! 🙂
2) I’ve included a handy dandy (and totally freakin free) E Book with well over 50 ways for you to get better at sales!
I’ll leave you with a final thought. Think about how much of your time you give to your clients, your boss, coworkers, friends, family, significant others. Whether we give that time freely or we complain the whole time, we still give it.
Perhaps its time we give the ultimate gift to ourselves . . . the gift of personal growth!
Please allow me to be the first person to tell you that you deserve no less!
See you back in school!
