How To Outsell Your Peers From A Beach Chair

Life is such a balancing act. Isn’t it?

On one hand, we want to conquer the world and get a fresh ding in the universe, on the other hand, we want to enjoy our lives.

Especially the part of life that is experienced during the summer!

I’m here to tell you that there is a way cool compromise!

Enter the “Beach Chair Sales Rep”

This time of year is the perfect time of year to take your favorite beach chair and make some of your calls outside!

Being outside on a nice summer day, puts you in an awesome mood, and awesome moods make for awesome outbound calls.

And please forgive the “Dr Phil moment” but . . .

We tend to avoid things that we don’t like or that make us uncomfortable;

Like cold calls for example.

Try changing the environment and watch what happens to your comfort level.

Improve your comfort level and watch what happens with your willingness to make the call.

Make the call when you’re relaxed, and watch (or listen) to how people respond to you on the other end of that phone.

Take that same beach chair and . . .

Stop by the local park at lunch time and do some of your work while enjoying a great summer day! I particularly love this when I have an inordinate amount of admin, that would have me stuck inside. “Mrs Uncle Paul” says I’m less cranky when I write my sales training content at the park instead of in the office. Who knows, maybe the woman is right!

Managers, you can become a way cool “Beach Chair Sales Manager” by taking that team meeting outside! Kind of goes a long way to unsuckify it, no? You’re welcome!

Maybe you could even train with your favorite, bald sales trainer this summer while kicking back in your favorite beach chair too!

Here’s the thing . . .

Summer is just about here, so . . .

Instead of getting annoyed, that you’re working, instead of being outside enjoying the summer;

Who says you can’t do both?

In fact, why the heck wouldn’t you?

How can YOU leverage it so;

while everyone else is using the summer as an excuse, you’ll be kicking their ass;

While enjoying your summer!
