You have an opportunity to accelerate your performance and;
It’s been right there, in front of you all along!
It’s actually quite simple if;
You ask your ego to leave the room and;
Have the balls to ask for feedback!
Before you give me an eye roll because you “know that”;
Here are a few scenarios for your consideration;
Ask a teammate to review an email you’ve been using.
Ask a teammate to sit with you while you make a few cold calls. Working from home? Have your teammate observe a few of your calls via Zoom.
Ask someone why they didn’t buy from you.
Ask your clients why they buy from you, better yet;
Have A Start, Stop, Continue, Conversation!
Ask them if there is anything they’d like for you to START doing.
Ask if there is anything you should STOP doing.
Ask if there is anything they particularly like that you should CONTINUE doing.
Ask your boss to join you on a few demos.
Record your Webex meetings and ask teammates for feedback.
Do you have “one on ones” with your manager? If not, ask for one and ask for their feedback. Make it a regular thing.
My son is in software sales and he is spearheading a feedback group where they review each other’s phone scripts, emails, demos, etc.
Hire a sales coach who has the balls to give it to you straight! Seriously, many sales coaches don’t want to run the risk of you taking your money elsewhere.
THE Most Important Thing To Remember
Don’t you ever, and I mean EVER, push back, and get defensive when you ask someone for feedback, even if they’re a real dick about it.
Why?
Because when you do, you condition them to avoid giving you feedback in the future!
There are obviously more “feedback scenarios”, but this will give you a great start!
