So we’ve all heard, in God knows how many motivational speeches, how we should never give up.
Sometimes that attitude will hurt you.
There are times, especially with Castain Training Systems when I should have pulled the plug on something sooner and then focused my energy in a different direction.
Does that make me an awful entrepreneur?
I don’t think so, because in the instances where I pulled the plug, I created an outcome that dwarfed the original “failure”!
The other day, I tried to do something really cool (and really exclusive for my podcast subscribers and my email subscribers) by announcing a “secret sale”.
I offered something that I’ve never done before which was offer $150 off my January 20th How To Hunt More Effectively course.
I even did what any brilliant marketer would do and put a deadline on it (November 27th).
I went a step further and reinforced that because they subscribe to the podcast and newsletter they get cool extras like this.
And then it happened . . .
I only sold like 2 enrollments for all that effort but . . .
I Almost Did Something That Would Have Been Disastrous
I was going to wait it out and remind everyone with another email here or there.
Meanwhile, I have over 20,000 subscribers to my blog that would have gone untapped.
Then it hit me
In my moment of trying to do something nice, and something “exclusive” my results have been as sh*tty as you can get.
So why wait it out?
Why get caught up in some positive thinking mantra when . . .
I could just say “Screw this” and offer it for everyone!
So Here’s What I Learned
Sometimes we wait too long to quit.
There’s no shame in quitting especially . . .
If there’s a better direction where you can focus your energy.
