Want to see something interesting that the average sales rep misses completely?
Try this 30 second experiment, it will more than prove my point!
Go to your home screen on LinkedIn.
Scroll through the status updates.
At first glance, it looks pretty typical, right?
Now look again, this time making note of how many of those updates go unanswered.
To me, those updates can be an opportunity to hear someone, to validate them and for you to be that friendly voice in the crowd that is willing to interact with them!
Instead, there are crickets.
And no, you don’t have to comment on every update (let that nutty relative of yours on Facebook do that)
Just block out a few minutes, each day to interact with your network.
Relationships start, with a few kind words and . . .
If people do business with people they know, like and trust;
Perhaps this could help begin that process?
At the very least, it’s an opportunity for you to stand out and be known within your social network.
Those unanswered updates tell me that you won’t have a lot of competition.
